The Heart and How

With the “CoVid-19 quarantine” resulting in job insecurity (or loss), reduced income and ongoing anxiety for many, God has provided Grace Point with an opportunity to serve and support our church family as well as our local community as 2nd responders helping to address physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

Anticipating the financial strain that many families are currently and will face, we are asking the church family and community to prayerfully consider what God would have them give for the specific purpose of providing financial assistance for those impacted.  These funds would be administered and distributed using an approach similar to current benevolence fund guidelines.

As you pray about what the Lord would have you give, please think about a one-time gift to build our resources specific to community relief as well as the potential for ongoing regular giving for this purpose:

Can you identify “quarantine savings” that could be used to help those in need?

Such as money you would have typically spent on:

o   Restaurants and fast food

o   Coffee (Starbucks, Scooters, etc.)

o   Gas for your car

o   Entertainment (movies, sporting events, concerts, etc.)

o   Activity fees (for gyms, golf, bowling, etc.)

o   Hair care/ haircuts

o   Vacation travel

o   Clothing

o   Other

  •     Refunds/credits received from discounted car insurance
  •     A portion of your Government Stimulus check

Again, this is not limited to church attendees in giving or receiving. We want this to be an outreach to our local community, and for the local community to be involved in a BIG WAY!

This will be used to provide consumables such as laundry detergent, diapers, paper towels, etc. & non-perishable food items to the community.

To whom much is given, much will be required. Luke 12:48

Blessings,
